Scholarship Eligibility & Criteria
Award is given to a qualified Lakeview student who plans to attend college, a university or seminary school; demonstrates a strong religious participation and commitment; has evidence of a plan for religious education with intent for religious service; good character and citizenship; and achievement of average or above average grades. All religious affiliations are eligible for consideration.
Every qualified applicant will be considered; however, financial need may be a factor. A one-page essay explaining the applicant's religious beliefs, commitment and intent is required.
Award
The Selection Committee and LSEF shall determine the amount of the award on an annual basis. In general, the amount will be $750 or more.
Renewable
Renewal consideration may be given to a previous recipient if they reapply and qualify. Renewals are dependent upon available funds.
Selection Committee
The Selection Committee shall be appointed by LSEF, consisting of at least four (4) members, and shall include the following: a counselor, Pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church or designee, Lakeview High School faculty member, member or representative of family when available, member of the LSEF Board of Trustees.
Deadline
Application deadline is March 1. Selection process should be completed by April 15. Recipient will be announced at graduation time and notified by letter.
